Back pain and neck pain have become increasingly more common as our lifestyle in the technological world has become increasingly more sedentary and stationary. There is certainly a role for nonoperative treatment modalities such as physical therapy, medications, chiropractic care, and injections, etc. Unfortunately, there are still many who do not benefit from them. It has been my experience that the Bion Back School program not only offers an alternative for those with back pain refractory to these treatments, but also complements these traditional nonoperative treatment modalities for others currently using them. The Bion Back School program is a rational, logical, and progressive step-wise program centered around patient safety and focused on mobility, functional movement, and posterior chain strengthening. Since the basic program can be scaled, customized, and specified to each individual’s needs, I have referred many of my patients from adolescents to octogenarians to the Bion Back School program. I am a graduate of the program as well as my friends and family members for whom I have referred. I have been extremely impressed and pleased with not only my result, but more importantly the results of my patients, friends, and family members.
